Mother's Day Out Preschool Winter Weather Policy
School Delays, Closings and Early Dismissals
MDO Preschool will alert you of any school delays, closings and/or early dismissals through the ChildPilot app (please be sure your information and app are up to date). Notifications will also be on our Facebook page. NOTE: Technology does not always work, so be sure to check all resources for school closings and/or delays.

Delays, closings and early dismissals are also announced on the local radio and television stations. Please listen or watch for announcements on any changes to the opening and/or closing of the DuBois Area School District (DASD). Mother's Day Out Preschool (MDO) follows the DASD exactly when it comes to these types of situations with winter weather.

DELAYS AND CLOSINGS: Delays and closings are announced on the local radio stations (Bigfoot Country 102.1 - 101.3 and Sunny 106.5) as well as TV channels 6 (WJAC) and 10 (WTAJ). If the DuBois Area School District calls for a 1-hour or 2-hour delay, so does Mother's Day Out Preschool. (Example: The DASD is on a 2-hour delay - MDO would start at
11:30 am). If the DASD is closed, MDO is closed. *PLEASE NOTE: IF THE DUBOIS AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT CALLS FOR A 1-HOUR OR 2-HOUR DELAY, BEFORE SCHOOL CARE IS DELAYED BY 1 OR 2 HOURS.

UNSCHEDULED EARLY DISMISSAL: In the event of an UNSCHEDULED early dismissal (inclement weather), we will dismiss our students one hour prior to the DuBois Area School District ELEMENTARY early dismissal time. (For example: If the DASD elementary is dismissing students at 1:00 pm, MDO will dismiss students at 12:00 pm.) *PLEASE NOTE: IF SCHOOL IS DISMISSED EARLY, AFTER SCHOOL CARE IS CLOSED.

If the DASD cancels after-school activities, the MDO After School Program is cancelled. We will notify you via ChildPilot if this occurs.

Most importantly, if the children are dismissed early, you will receive a notification via the ChildPilot app. Please be mindful of checking your phone for messages during inclement weather. The times of closing and early dismissal ARE NOT FLEXIBLE, so please be courteous to our staff when picking up your child/children at the time of dismissal!
